Abstract
Congenital adrenal hyperplasia is a main cause of female hermaphroditism and is an inborn error transmitted by an autosomal recessive gene. Most affected individuals have a failure of 21-hydroxylation in enzymatic steps of steroidogenesis and so
lead to
excessive production of adrenal androgens causing virilization. Patients with congenital adrenal hyperplasia can achieve normal sexual maturation and fertility by steroid replacement therapy. Virilization of fetus can be prevented or minimized by
prenatal diagnosis and prenatal treatment. This patient had visited to our hospital due to primary amenorrhea and husky voice at 20-year old. After the diagnosis of congenital adrenal hyperplasia due to 21-hydro-xylase deficiency, she had taken
hormone
replacement with 7.5 mg of prednisolone a day. The ovulation had not occurred with 100 mg of clomiphene citrate. Then we changed the induction protocol with pure FSH. The successful ovulation and pregnancy was achieved with gonadotropin
stimulation
and
intrauterine insernination. Careful prenatal diagnosis and antenatal care had continued throughout the pregnant period. She delivered a healthy male baby by cesarean section in 38th weeks of gestation.
